How the Foundation began
For more than twenty years, my husband and I served remote tribal villages of Gadchiroli as health professionals — independently and alongside the government. When our sons began school, we came face to face with the problems of conventional education. After much research and discussion, we chose to homeschool, and we saw with our own eyes the difference between the two paths.
That experience became a conviction: the children of our community needed an alternative space to learn — one that would help them grow into self-aware, reasonable, responsible and environment-conscious citizens, with the promise of a safe, peaceful and free society.
On 15 October 2023, Dr. Kishor Naitam left this world, leaving his dream behind: a happy childhood for every child, and equal, dignified treatment for indigenous people.
One year later, on 15 October 2024, the Dr. Kishor Naitam Foundation was born — with the sole purpose of making that dream come true.
